ENTRY RESTRICTIONS SELFRIDGE AIRSHOW 2009
  • All carry-in items and persons are subject to search.
  • All unattended bags and items will be removed from the premises.
  • Cameras may be used to monitor the facility.

THE FOLLOWING RESTRICTIONS APPLY:
  • No Coolers (only small, soft sided "six pack" size for meds/baby food)
  • No Back Packs
  • No Glass Containers
  • No Cans
  • No Alcohol
  • No Pets, unless they are assistance animals
  • No Weapons of any kind (firearms, knives, sharp edged items)
  • No Contraband
  • No Tents, Awnings or Beach Umbrellas
  • No Cooking Equipment
  • No Recreational Vehicles (travel trailers, motor homes, etc.)
  • No Bikes
  • No Roller Blades
  • No Skateboards
  • No Outdoor Recreational Items (frisbees, lawn darts, etc.)
FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE:
  • To minimize imposition it is recommended that Air Show patrons bring only necessary items on their person and limit the size and contents of carry-in items to those that are essential.
MOTORCYCLES:
All riders operating a motorcycle on base are required to wear safety gear to include:
  • Helmets
  • Long sleeve shirts or jackets
  • Full-fingered Gloves
  • Long pants
  • Face shields
  • Eye Protection: Goggles, wrap around impact resistant glasses or full face shield properly attached to the helmet.
  • Foot Protection: Sturdy over the ankle footwear. No sandals or low quarter sneakers. Riders will wear brightly colored outer upper garment during the day and reflective at night
LOST AND FOUND:
  • A lost and found/information booth will be situated near the large POW/MIA flag, located by the Vietnam Veterans group, to report lost children/people.
  • Announcements for lost people will not be made over the public address system. Please coordinate a meeting point with your group so that in the event someone gets separated, you have already established a meeting point.
  • Bring found items or report lost items to the lost and found/information tent.
FIRST AID:
  • Drink plenty of fluids, especially if the day is a sunny and warm.
  • Apply sunscreen often, especially to small children. Temperatures on the flightline typically are higher than normal. Bring a hat to protect the top of your head.
  • Take time out to rest during the day. With the heat and excitement, you could become fatigued.
  • A First Aid Center is located in Hangar 3, which is located on the east ramp flightline.
AIRCRAFT:
  • Do not touch or climb on any aircraft unless invited to do so by the aircrew.
  • Remember that trash can be sucked up into the aircraft engines, damaging the aircraft and endangering the pilot's life. Please keep the flightline litter-free by using the trash receptacles provided for your convenience.
  • Trip hazards are everywhere. Watch for tent ropes and aircraft tie-down chains.
  • Observe all signs, including the ones that say "do not touch."
  • Smoking is not permitted by any aircraft. Safety concerns related to the presence of jet fuel severely restrict where people can smoke on base and at the air show. These restrictions will be enforced for the safety of everyone present

  • Pen for autographs
  • Ear plugs
  • Purses
  • Sunscreen
  • Camera and Camera Bags (Smaller then 1 cubic foot)
  • Diaper Bags
  • Portable Lawn Chairs
  • Collapsible strollers
  • Umbrellas
