THE RED TAIL PROJECT

Our Mission

To restore an inspirational symbol which will represent the contributions of African Americans who served our country during WWII. Further, to identify, acknowledge and preserve this history through an aviation education program.

The Mustang Flies

On May 10, 2001 the Red Tail P-51C flew for the first time after restoration. This picture, of the Redtail Mustang flown by Bob Odegard, was taken by Gus McCLeod, is of its second test flight at Tri State Aviation in Wahpeton, ND. Gunfighter, in the background, is piloted by Reg Urschler.
